Los Liones Cyn Hike in Topanga. This is a great hike, the first mile is in canopy and then you come into a great view of the ocean and LA. Not a strenuous hike and there were nice people around. We only went the 3.5 miles to the Parker Mesa Overlook, 7 miles round trip, but it goes further if you wish. It is almost like 2 or 3 different hikes in one… since you start out on this lush green shady trail, then up a few rocky switchbacks with vines, and further in this open area with meadows. Fun. Bring snacks there are benches at the Overlook (a.k.a. couches). I saw bunnies, marmots and lots of hawks and lizards too… mostly at the very bottom of the hike before the parking lot… oh ya … how do you get here.. from SM area toward Malibu, off PCH go north… you can only go north, unless you feel like swimming, up Sunset. 2nd st. is Los Liones and you go left and can either park there by the State Park sign or you can drive a little further to the parking area, by the church, and start from there.
