Judee H. Carrico, C.P.E.
Judee H. Carrico, C.P.E., was born and raised in California
and has lived in La Crescenta with her husband and family
since 1979. Judee graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara with
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and earned professional designations in Marketing and Advertising from U.C.L.A. She opened Descanso Electrolysis in 1992.
A state-licensed, board-certified Electrologist, Judee is a member of the American Electrology Association, the Electrologists Association of California and the Montrose Chamber of Commerce.
Certified Professional Electrologist
The Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE) credential signifies that
the electrologist's knowledge has been tested and measured against
a national standard of excellence. The commitment to keep the credential, through on-going continuing education, exemplifies the highest degree of professionalism. Board certification is going above and beyond initial training. It is a voluntary credential, which requires continuing education pursuits. The board certified electrologist must obtain seventy-five hours of continuing education in a five-year period to maintain this credential, or be re-tested. This speaks of a serious commitment to enhance knowledge and skills. Board certification keeps the electrologist aware of changes in the profession and gives them the tools to respond.
The American Electrology Association
The American Electrology Association (AEA) is the largest international nonprofit membership organization for permanent hair removal professionals. The AEA promotes the highest standards in electrology education, practice and ethics standards, and champions state licensing to protect the public interest.
Electrologists' Association of California
The EAC is dedicated to providing its members with the latest information and education so they can compete in a fair market with
the highest level of knowledge and confidence. The EAC offers seminars, newsletters and meetings to ensure continuing education in the field of electrolysis. The EAC promotes standards in education, sterilization and continued training for the protection of the public health, safety and welfare is invaluable to the field of electrolysis and all electrologists.
